The story of Sproutern begins with frustration. In my third year at MIT Chennai, I watched dozens of talented students struggle with the same problems: they didn't know how to write resumes that would get noticed, they had no idea what to expect in interviews, and they spent hours searching for information that was scattered across countless websites, YouTube videos, and WhatsApp groups.

I was one of those students. Despite having good technical knowledge and project experience, my first three interviews ended in rejection. The frustration wasn't just about not getting selected — it was about not understanding why. What was I doing wrong? What did successful candidates know that I didn't? The answers weren't easy to find.

The breakthrough came when I started connecting with seniors who had already been placed. Their insights were gold — practical tips about what interviewers really look for, how to structure answers, which questions are actually important. I took detailed notes, organized everything, and suddenly my own interview performance improved dramatically. I received offers from three companies, including two that had rejected me earlier.

That's when the idea for Sproutern was born: What if all this insider knowledge was freely available to every student? What if a first-generation engineering student from a Tier-3 college had access to the same interview insights as someone at IIT? What if career guidance didn't cost thousands of rupees that most families can't afford?

Founded in 2025 by Premkumar M, Sproutern started as a simple collection of interview tips shared in a Google Doc. Today, it has grown into a comprehensive platform serving students across 10+ countries. We offer 30+ free tools, detailed guides for every stage of the career journey, real interview experiences from students who've been placed at top companies, and resources localized for the Indian context.
